2010 River City Marathon and Half Marathon Run & Walk Race Information

General Information:	The marathon course is USATF Certified(and Boston Qualifier). All finishers in the Half and Full Marathon will recive Finisher Medals. All participants will receive custom shirts, an award ceremony with BBQ and raffle giveaways will also follow the event. Awards will be given to in 16-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+.
Location and Time:	Sunday - April 18, 2010 Negro Bar Gates Open: 6:00 am Runner Orientation: 6:45 am Race Starts: 7:00 am
Safety Rules for All Entrants:	No unregistered runners, walkers or pacers. No dogs. No headphones, IPods, MP3, Walkman-type radios, etc.No strollers, baby joggers, incline skates, bicycles.
Races and Fees:	Solo Marathon- $70 on or before 1/19; $80 to 3/18; $90 to 4/14; $100 Packet Pickup & Race Day Half Marathon- $45 on or before 3/18; $55 to 4/14; $65 Packet Pickup & Race Day Shuttle Bus from Finish to Start of both races BEFORE race $10 Runners can switch to different races with 48 hours notice. There are no refunds or transfers to other races.
Race Day Schedule of Events:	7:00 AM Marathon Start(Negro Bar) 8:30 AM 1/2 Marathon Start(William B. Pond Park) 10:30 AM BBQ Begins 2:00 PM Race Ends
Race Packet Pickup:	Race Packet Pickup will on Sat April 17 at Ramada Limited Sacramento-Discovery Park which is our Host Hotel. They are offering a special race rate and benefits. It will between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Aid Stations & Facilities:	We will have 9 aid stations about every 2-3 miles (water, HEED (electrolyte drink), gels, bananas, etc). Bathrooms are available at the start and finish and the state and county parks provide facilities including a number of water fountains and restrooms along the course. We suggest carrying a water bottle to supplement between stations.
Spectators:	Spectators are welcome along the trail so check out this map
Post Race BBQ:	Their will be a Post Race BBQ after the events. It will consist of Hamburgers(& Veggie Burgers), Hot Dogs, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, green salad, dessert, and more. The BBQ is free for runners/walkers and $7 for friends & family.
Directions to Start(Negro Bar State Park):	From Highway 50, take the Folsom Blvd exit and follow Folsom Blvd north. Make a left onto Greenback and then another left into the Negro Bar park entrance.
Directions to Marathon Finish(10K/5K Start & Finish):	Discovery Park is located beside I-5 in downtown Sacramento. From I-5 take the Richards Blvd. off-ramp then go west to get to the South entrance of the park, or follow the Garden Highway exit east from I-5 to find the North entrance. Signs denote the parks location from I-5. The County of Sacramento charges $5.00 for parking in the parking lots which supports county parks and the American River Trail.
Hotel:	We recommend Ramada Limited Sacramento-Discovery Park(Host Hotel) which is offering special rates and benefits to guests. .
Camping:	Camping is available at Folsom Lake State Recreation Area.
Food:	Denny´s, McDonalds, Taco Bell.
Stores:	Safeway, Bel Air Market, Food 4 Less
